Carmon Pete Wilson, age 58, from Ashland City was killed in a motorcycle crash along State Route Highway 49 in Ashland City, Cheatham County, Tennessee on Friday, April 14, 2017. Passenger Diana Renee (McClain) Thompson, age 43, from Pleasant View, Tennessee was critically injured in the motorcycle crash.
According to a preliminary report, provided by Tennessee Highway Patrol, Wilson was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson FHX Motorcycle, with Thompson as passenger. The motorcycle crash happened around 6:30 p.m. near Greenbrier Road in Ashland City. They were traveling East on State Route Highway 49 when Wilson lost control of the motorcycle and goes of the right shoulder of the road, hitting a stone embankment. The motorcycle landed on top of Wilson in the ditch. No other vehicles were involved.
Both driver and passenger were wearing helmets, neither were reported to have drugs or alcohol in their system and there weren’t any citations or criminal charges issued.
Thompson remains in critical but stable condition in the Trauma Unit at Vanderbilt Medical Center where she was airlifted with critical injuries from the scene of the accident.
ACCORDING TO THOMPSON’S MOTHER ON FACEBOOK RENEE THOMPSON IS IMMOBILIZED, SEDATED, AWAITING SPINAL REPAIR SURGERY WHICH IS EXPECTED WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS. VISITATION IS RESTRICTED TO IMMEDIATE FAMILY ONLY AT THIS TIME. THE FAMILY STATED THEY APPRECIATED THE LOVE, SUPPORT AND PRAYERS EXTENDED TO THOMPSON, THEIR FAMILY AND THE WILSON FAMILY DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME.
