SKELETAL REMAINS NEAR PLEASANT VIEW – INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

CHEATHAM NEWS, 01/24/2017, 1:35:10 PM, continues to  follow an ongoing investigation by TBI and Robertson County Sheriff’s Department of skeletal remains found in or around a wooded area off Interstate 24, Exit 19 on Maxey Road near Pleasant View on Monday, January 23, 2017.     

TODAY, TUESDAY, JANUARY 24, Cheatham News has obtained the following statement through email from Josh Devine, Public Informations Officer with Tennessee Bureau of Investigation:  

“TBI Special Agents are working with Robertson County Sheriff’s Office in the area of Exit 19 on I-24 in Robertson County after the discovery of skeletal remains. They have not, however, been confirmed to be human at this time.”  

According to Devine, medical examiners were scheduled to arrive this morning to assist in the removal of the remains.  

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Robertson County Sheriff’s Department remained onsite throughout the night. Robertson County Emergency Services, Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department and Robertson County Emergency Management Agency have assisted in the investigation.   

At this time the skeletal remains have not been identified as human remains.

Cheatham News is awaiting an update from Robertson County Sheriff’s Department and will report any updates as they are received.
