Chonda Pierce, a 1978 Cheatham County Central High School Graduate and one of the country’s top-selling female comedians, is scheduled to perform once more at CCCHS Second Annual Steak Dinner and Auction. The event will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Pierce performed last year at CCCHS for the first ever steak dinner and auction.  According to CCCHS teacher and coach Jimmy Harden community residents have stated they’d like to see her perform again and she was more than happy for the opportunity to return to her hometown high school stage.

“We are glad to have Chonda back. She was a big draw last year, and I think she was one of the reasons we sold so many tickets,” said longtime CCCHS teacher and coach Jimmy Harden, who is helping to organize the event.

Dinner on April 29th will consist of steaks, prepared once more by Bill Farmer, side items, dessert and a drink.  Last year all food items were donated for the dinner except for the meat and this year is no different.  Side items, drinks and various supplies are being donated by many businesses.

“We were super appreciative of the community’s support last year, and everyone had a really good time. It was a good opportunity for the community to come together for something positive,” said CCCHS principal Steve Wenning.

Prior to dinner attendees will have the opportunity to bid on silent auction items.   Following dinner and performance by Chonda Pierce, Bill Mahaney will conduct the live auction.  Local and Middle Tennessee businesses are being contacted to donate items for the silent and live auction.

Last year’s steak dinner and auction raised Cheatham County Central High School approximately $12,000 dollars and attracted approximately 400, exceeding the school’s expectations.  The funds were used to benefit students and any funds raised at this year’s event will continue to provide supplies to enhance the educational experience and provide additional equipment for students.

Tickets are now available to purchase to attend the CCCHS Steak Dinner, Auction and see Chonda Pierce perform.  Single tickets are $30.00 and $50.00 for a couple.   They can be purchased at Cheatham County Central High School in the front office or from any CCCHS teacher.

“We encourage everyone to get their tickets early because they will sell fast. We sold out pretty quick last year,”  stated ccchs teacher and coach jimmy Harden.
